Karen Stiehl Osborn is a mixed
media artist, working primarily with textiles and paper.
Her colorful, abstract textile
artwork is created from cloth that she hand paints and dyes.
Layer upon layer of color, text and images are added with surface
design and printing techniques.
Her mixed media collages
frequently include her own painted and dyed cloth as well as a
variety of found and created papers. One of her current
fascinations involves the use of beeswax to layer an encaustic style
of collage.
Her work has appeared in
publications, exhibitions and galleries around the world and is in
private and museum collections in the United States, Belgium,
Germany, United Kingdom, Mexico and New
Zealand. |
